Bio
just shockey is a California-based singer-songwriter and producer with multi-disciplinary skills, spanning genres from acoustic-indie to rap and EDM. A lifetime musician born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska, shockey first took his talents to Berkley College of Music to develop himself as an artist and lyricist before moving to Los Angeles in 2014. Over the years, his unorthodox production and songwriting processes have bred his quintessential sound, genre-less and fluid, allowing for untethered inspiration. As an artist, his pride and primary focus has always been his lyricism, continuously developing his skills in sonic storytelling.
Whether he is writing about the struggles of the world, the beauty of life, the burn of toxic romance, or the memories of growing up, his words are sure to hit home. In his career, he has amassed over 10 million streams as a songwriter, working with artists such as Trinidad James on his SXSW performances and Jordin Sparks, the featured artist and co-writer on his song, "who cares?".
After winning an open mic competition, shockey was given the opportunity to sign with Gala Music, allowing him to rise to notable success in Web3 as an independent artist. This opened the door for his performances at Veecon and Catbird in 2023, as well as his collaboration with Sparks. Additionally, he has established himself as a premier dance composer, working with companies such as Body Traffic and Rambert2 on pieces that have toured the world.
